At Himmelbjerg, a 1,500 m² kindergarten built in 1990, comfort isn’t a nice-to-have — it’s part of keeping 100 children healthy, rested, and ready to learn.

Together with the municipality, we are turning one of their most used buildings into a quiet, healthy, and energy-smart space - without adding active cooling.

Die Herausforderung

Two rooms were central to daily life:

• Ein Schlafzimmer, in dem Lärm und Zugluft gering gehalten werden mussten.
• An activity room, where CO₂, heat, and glare often made the indoor climate drift out of balance.

The existing room-wise ventilation system couldn’t keep up.

Himmelbjerg now runs on three Climify layers — all connected, all working for the people inside:‍

1. Überwachung: Hochauflösende IEQ-Sensoren erfassen Temperatur, Luftfeuchtigkeit, CO₂, Lärm, Licht und Anwesenheit in jedem Raum.

2. Menschliches Feedback:
   
   • Über einfache Schaltflächen und unsere FeedMe-App teilen die Mitarbeiter mit, wie sie sich fühlen: heiß, kalt, stickig, laut, zugig, zu hell, zu dunkel.
   • Their feedback becomes a live “Comfort ID” that shapes how the system reacts.

3. Aktion & Kontrolle: We control two new Panasonic room-wise ventilation systems and the external shutters installed in late 2025. Together,they:
   
   • CO₂-Ausstoß und Lärmbelastung gering halten
   • Blendung während der Spielzeit reduzieren
   • Pre-cool rooms in the early morning to avoid overheating
   • Ausgleich des Luftstroms während der Schlafenszeit für ruhige, frische Luft
   • Sollwerte automatisch aus dem Benutzerkomfort anpassen

Intelligente Belüftung statt aktiver Kühlung

With weather forecasts and predictive control, the building cools itself ahead ofwarm days by using ventilation and exterior blinds — keeping temperatures stable without installing a cooling unit.

Erste Ergebnisse

Based on the baseline and first interventions, the kindergarten is on track to meet its project goals:

• 20 % weniger Lärm während der Nutzungszeiten.
• 25 % Verbesserung der thermischen Zufriedenheit.
• Full AT and BR18 compliancy.
• Avoided installation of active cooling.
• Room-by-room indoor climate improvements with measurable gains for both staff and children.
